Thanks Heavens For Lake Dathee!

One of the key reasons we decided to buy our Normandy Gite here was that there are so many great things to see and do for all the family within and easy drive and one of the most popular during the hot summer and Autumn months is the fantastic Lake Dathee which is just a few minutes drive away. Like most of Europe we are experiencing a fantastic run of brilliant weather and the lucky family who are staying with us this week have really made the most of it.

Lake Dathee is really a massive reservoir that supplies water to everyone and every where. It boasts a safe and easy cinder path all the way round – perfect for bikes, walking and prams and best of all there’s a sailing club and wonderful artificial beach perfect for sun bathing, swimming or just paddling and playing around in – and being a Labrador, it’s Boos favourite place too! It’s also a great place for fishing for trout, pike and carp and local licences are available in the bars and shops around. You can also hire kayaks, pedalos and sailing boats at the club house or bring your roof rack and borrow the kayaks we have here.

We are fully booked now right through to the end of August but after that we still have good availability in September and October. Autumn is an unbeatable time to visit our Normandy Gite as the weather is generally still good with strong sunshine and long evenings of late summer sunshine as we are an hour ahead of you folks back in the UK. Its also less busy everywhere – not that Normandy does ‘busy’ at any time and of course there its cheaper to come and stay as well.

And for those of you who are so inclined I am told by those who play that there is a top quality 18 hole golf course at Lake Dathee open to members and non members so bring your clubs or you can hire them there. So check out our availability calendar and come and bring your family and friends and enjoy a late summer holiday in one of the best Normandy gites to rent available.

And for those who are bored with all the talk of the sun here’s a great picture of Boo enjoying last winter’s snow!!!
